These terms and conditions represent the entire service agreement between you and Abbys Pest and Cleaning Clyde Vic, 3978, Australia, regarding the services provided by Abbys Pest and Cleaning.
We encourage you to review this Agreement thoroughly. By using our services, you agree to these terms and conditions.
Carpet, Upholstery Services
Abbys Pest and Cleaning agrees to deliver carpet and upholstery cleaning services to the Customer at an address designated by the Customer. The specifics of the Service will be confirmed with the Customer during the booking process. Appointments can be scheduled via telephone, email, website contact forms, or social media platforms.
Abbys Pest and Cleaning will send one or more carpet cleaning technicians to the location to complete the Service at a mutually agreed time and date. A booking time will be provided with a 30-minute arrival window. We cannot be held accountable for delays caused by traffic, earlier jobs running overtime, or any other issues that may result in our technician arriving late. While we will try to reach you if your appointment is delayed, we generally do not provide discounts or reduced rates for any late starts to your job.
Abbys Pest and Cleaning strives to perform the Service efficiently and professionally. The company takes responsibility for executing all work to the best of its abilities. It aims to uphold the high professional standards of Service and workmanship set by the IICRC, The Victorian Carpet Cleaners Association Incorporated, and the Australian Carpet Cleaning Standard 3733: 2018.
Abbys Pest and Cleaning uses modern techniques recognized in the industry for cleaning and/or treating carpets, rugs, upholstery, and more.
Estimates, Quotations & Pricing
Any price provided to you before a physical assessment of the work is merely an estimate based on our experience, without an inspection, and on the information you have shared.
All quoted prices include GST.
Quotations are valid for 14 days.
Our minimum charge for any job is $110.
Our estimates and quotes for carpet cleaning are based on a standard room size of 12 sqm for both furnished and unfurnished rooms. Rooms smaller than 12sqm will be considered as one room. Rooms larger than 12sqm but smaller than 25sqm will be counted as two rooms. Hallways are typically counted as half a room, while stairs are charged by each step.
Pricing for upholstery cleaning is calculated on a per-seat basis, where a “seat” refers to how many individuals can comfortably sit on a couch rather than the number of cushions. Additional fees for recliners, ottomans, chaises, and loose cushions may apply.
Estimates for rugs and mattresses depend on size and condition (minimum charges apply). Fabric protection incurs an extra fee based on the square meterage or seat size involved in the Service. Pre-vacuuming is an additional cost of $10 per room.
Once our technician arrives on-site, they will evaluate the premises and ascertain the size and condition of the rooms/furniture to be cleaned, confirming the price with you before starting the work. Typically, our quotes do not significantly deviate from the initial estimates unless the job differs considerably from your description—for example if the rooms are more prominent than indicated, the carpet or upholstery is heavily soiled or stained, or if additional rooms/seats are added.
During this inspection, our technician will complete a condition report documenting the state of the premises and any pre-existing damage, staining, or wear and tear. The technician will request your signature on this condition report after they have finished their inspection and explained the necessary services. By signing this report, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined.
Abbys Pest and Cleaning cannot be held liable for any pre-existing conditions that are not visible during the initial inspection of the premises, including, but not limited to, issues such as unstable dyes, UV damage on carpets or timber floors, improper stretching of carpets, bodily fluids within mattresses, and chemical residues from prior cleaning.
Stains
Standard carpet cleaning quotations cover everyday stains and spots. However, difficult stains are not included and may result in extra charges due to the specialized nature of the Service. Before cleaning begins, an assessment will be conducted to identify any problematic stains that could incur additional fees.
Difficult stains may include but are not limited to, grease, red wine, coffee, ink, bleach, soda, cordial, tea, vomit, blood, rust, urine, and pet-related issues.
Please note that some problematic stains could be permanent, and Abbys Pest and Cleaning does not guarantee the removal of these stains. Cleaning cannot reverse deterioration, fading, heavy traffic, or wear.
Cancellation Fees & Other Charges
The Customer must inform Abbys Pest and Cleaning by 4 pm on the business day preceding their scheduled Service if they wish to suspend, delay, or cancel for any reason. If proper notice is provided, we will arrange to reschedule the Service as needed.
Without sufficient notice, the Customer agrees to pay a cancellation fee of $110, our minimum charge, to cover our losses and administrative expenses.
Access fees will apply for properties with limited entry, such as those with stairs. A fee of $15 will be charged for each floor above ground level when there is no elevator access.
The Customer will be responsible for any parking fees for metered spaces or paid public parking. If keys must be picked up or returned to a Real Estate Agent, a small fee will be applied based on the distance travelled.
Payment Terms
The Customer agrees to pay the total price quoted by Abbys Pest and Cleaning upon completion of the Service. If payment is not received by the end of the Service, Abbys Pest and Cleaning will make reasonable efforts to contact the Customer for payment.
If Abbys Pest and Cleaning has agreed to invoice the Customer after the Service is completed, the Customer commits to paying all fees in full within 7 days of the invoice date.
Invoices that remain unpaid for more than 30 days will incur a late payment fee of $110. Additional charges may apply for invoices that are overdue beyond 30 days.
Abbys Pest and Cleaning reserves the right to transfer the outstanding debt to a collection agency and may report the Customer’s details to credit reporting agencies if the account remains overdue, which will result in further charges.
Payments can be made in cash, by Mastercard or Visa, or through bank deposits or transfers. Banking information is provided on all invoices.
Warranty & Guarantee
Abbys Pest and Cleaning adheres to the Australian Standards AS/NZS 3733:2018 for cleaning carpets and upholstery. If you are unsatisfied with our Service, we will address any areas of concern if you notify us within 48 hours.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Abbys Pest and Cleaning will not be liable for any damage or claims reported beyond the 48-hour window following the completion of the Service.
Any insurance claims will be evaluated at our discretion.
Customer Expectations
The Customer is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment at the Premises for the technician to perform the Service and must provide clear, unobstructed access to areas that need cleaning. The Customer will grant the technician access to all necessary services and utilities, including hot and cold water, electricity, and rubbish bins, as needed.
Before the Service begins, the Customer should inform the technician of any potential hazards, slippery surfaces, or other risks. The Customer is also responsible for securing or removing any fragile, delicate, easily breakable, or valuable items, such as cash, jewellery, artwork, antiques, or items of sentimental value, before the start of the Service.
While we typically do not move furniture, we accept no liability for any breakage or damage to your personal property in your home, workplace, or other locations if requested. While in our care, we promise to take the utmost care of carpeting, upholstery, rugs, fabric, and similar items, but we cannot accept responsibility for any damages.
Any large items of furniture, particularly those made of wood or metal, should not be moved for at least 24 hours. We are not liable for any staining caused by the Customer moving furniture onto a damp carpet.
The Customer is requested to vacuum carpet and/or upholstery before the technician’s arrival.
Due to the nature of the cleaning process involving heat and chemicals, children and pets must be kept from the areas where the Service is being conducted.
The carpet or floor may remain damp for several hours following the completion of the work, which can create a slip hazard when transitioning from the carpet to hard floors like tiles or floorboards. We will not be liable for any injuries or damage from slips or falls.
We do not Guarantee
Our guarantee does not apply to furnishings that exhibit permanent wear and tear, which includes damage from prior cleaning attempts, textile pest issues, sun damage, fading, traffic lane shading, and permanent stains.
We will not be held responsible for any damage from the separation of carpet seams and joints during the cleaning process. Newly installed carpet that has not been sufficiently stretched may appear loose after cleaning, but this should resolve as the carpet dries. If it does not, we are not liable, and the Customer should reach out to the installation company for re-stretching.
As carpets, rugs, and fabrics are not pre-shrunk by manufacturers, we cannot accept liability for any shrinkage that may occur, although we will make every effort to minimize it. Additionally, we do not take responsibility for colour fastness or dye bleeding, as manufacturing defects can become apparent only after cleaning, sometimes after multiple cleanings.
The latex used in carpet backings, including fringing, seaming, tape binding, and repairs, can deteriorate over time and may loosen during the cleaning process.
Abbys Pest and Cleaning is not responsible for any delays in drying carpets, rugs, or upholstery caused by adverse weather conditions or inadequate air circulation.
When requested to clean existing carpet damage, including stains, Abbys Pest and Cleaning cannot be held accountable for further damage. While we strive to eliminate stains, there are instances where stains may worsen after cleaning due to reactions to chemicals used by previous cleaners.
IMPORTANT
When requested to clean carpets, rugs, mats, and upholstery in your home, we take all necessary precautions; however, we cannot accept responsibility for any damage to timber, laminate, carpeting, or any other floor surfaces that may occur during the cleaning or drying processes.
Abbys Pest and Cleaning reserves the right to decline cleaning services for items that present certain conditions or pose a risk of damage. If you choose to proceed with the Service despite this warning, we will not be held liable for any damages that may arise.
